We took a family of four, two older teens, and it was great! We purchased the guided tour and enjoyed our guide, Jack, and he was a great guide. Worth the extra to learn a little more than having to read our way through and keep the kids engaged. Excellent experience!
This was mine and my daughter’s first Ryman show and the mother church did not disappoint. Staff are amazing and the drink prices are very reasonable for a music venue. The acoustics and historical energy in this place is a real thing and prepare to be blown away even if your seeing your favorite artist you have seen them 20 times they will absolutely sound different here! 4 stars only because while they have done a fantastic job of preserving the historical value of this cherished venue, I truly feel like there could be some improvements made for comfort. We sat on the 1st level and there are several seats with poles right in the middle of them and if you plan on sitting the whole concert (who does that, right?) the church pews will leave you wishing you brought a cushion.
I usually bring a coozies, but I purposely didn’t because I was assuming the venue would sell coozies and I would have some Ryman merch on the cheap! 😔 They don’t sell Ryman coozies at the concessions so if you’re thinking of getting that essential drink accessory, think again. I feel the venue is missing out on a good revenue source and the fans are missing out on a fairly cheap merch option.
Our family of four had such a great time at the Ryman Auditorium. The video before the backstage tour was fantastic. It really set the tone and gave us a sense of the history and magic behind the place. Seeing the auditorium in person was even more incredible than we expected, and exploring the backstage dressing rooms was such a neat experience.
We also loved that we could take our time exploring the theater afterward. The kids especially enjoyed the interactive video experience on one side of the auditorium. It kept them engaged and added a fun twist to the visit.
To top it all off, we had a family photo taken right inside the auditorium, and it was printed out for us at the end: such a perfect keepsake. The whole experience was smooth, memorable, and absolutely worth it. FAB!
